Jessica Tata - Sentenced To 80 Years - But....

    ...she's eligible for parole after 30 .

I hope the families band together to do everything they can to keep her in prison for the full term.

Yes Daycare, Texas is the death penalty capital of the nation. I would like to thank Nigeria returning this woman to the US for prosecution.

This is only the first trial. She will still be facing a few more court appearances.

"Tata still faces three more counts of felony murder in relation to the other children who died, and three counts of abandoning a child and two counts of reckless injury to a child in relation to the three who were hurt. Baldassano said prosecutors planned to pursue trials on the remaining felony murder charges." (http://news.msn.com/us/woman-sentenc...-day-care-fire)

I only hope they do not allow any of her sentences to run concurrently.

I'm hoping the same thing! It's so terrible! I hate leaving my DCKs with subs! I couldn't fathom going shopping! and "forgetting" oil on the stove? Please! She is a horrible person and deserves what she gets (even more probably)!

Going shopping with toddlers at home?!? With oil on the stove????!

She is the same age as me. I can't imagine how she thought that was an option for her. I also can't imagine how many times she has done this before.

                1. Who walks away from a stove with oil in the first place? Even if I'm home alone I would never do that. But with kids inte house!?! No way!

                2. Only the most negligent selfish terrible person would leave the house with little children inside. Nothing's so important at Target to risk that!

                3. To do both!?! I hope those families get their justice, but their loss will never be replaced. So sad
