Usually Amazon offers a bunch of Melissa and Doug stuff for $10 each right about this time of year- guess not this year

Not saying that 1/2 off isn't good, but I usually scoop up the $10 stuff.

Thanks for posting. I'm on a Childcare Association board and we are just getting ready to order the raffle prizez for our Christmas party next month for our members!! Just ordered puzzles, block sets, and a couple of other things.

I'll have to check out Toys R Us also. Thanks ladies.

How do you like those blocks? I want to get them for my son. What age do you think gets the most use out of them?

I already have these blocks and I love them. The kids get so much use from them. All kids from age 1 to 10 years have used them and they're very popular to use in addition to other toys. If they play with cars the kids will make garages, roads and houses out of the blocks etc. The only recommendation I have with this block set is that if you plan on having more than 1 or 2 children play with them at the same time then I strongly urge you to buy at least 2 sets. There simply aren't enough blocks for more than that many kids to not be restricted in their building. To clean them I fill a basin with water/bleach solution, dunk some for 2 minutes, quickly pull them out and let them air dry. They've held up very nicely over the years.

all ages! unit blocks are awesome! 2 or 3 sets give you a great variety for building, and you can supplement with nifty special pieces from other sources.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just ordered a hundred dollars worth of stuff. I saved about seventy dollars. I ordered wooden puzzles, printing sets, pattern tiles and such. Can't wait till they come. One some things I ordered two so that I have one for the day care and I can give the other one as a Christmas present to my grandkids or to a day care kid.
