    3 (Almost 4 )Year Old Routine..Opinion?

    Good morning everyone

Just wanted to get some opinions on my own almost 4 year old DS.
DS has been resisting naps for a couple of months now but will nap a couple of times per week. (He needs a nap but won't sleep...he gets SO cranky by 4pm, it is unbearable.) He gives me the hardest time out of all the DCKS because he is just so miserable all afternoon and that is my busy time since I have all SA DCKS.
I have noticed however that he gets really tired around 10:30am and I can't go anywhere with him in the car at that time because he keeps almost falling alseep and will force himself to cry instead of sleeping...it drives me crazy! I keep thinking - Just Sleep!!!
He is also STARVING by 11am for lunch and starving again around 4:30 for supper even though he has had a decent snack. He cries and whines for an hour for food while the DCKS are here.
Right now he has AM snack at 10:00, lunch at 11:30pm, nap at 12:30, snack at 3pm and then supper at 5:30.
What if I tried putting him for a nap at 10:30 after AM snack? Then he could have a late lunch around 1pm. I was thinking it might keep him more satisfied until supper and maybe he would sleep at 10:30 because he does get so sleepy and by 12:30 he is overtired and won't sleep.
WWDY? Anyone have or have had a 3 YO on this type of routine?

I would definitely try that! Nothing to lose, and you might get a happier child. Some kids run on completely different schedules that others.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

If you're willing to try it, go ahead, as long as it works for you, too.

He's almost 4, it might be time for a little tough love, mama..."You are whining, and that hurts my ears. I know you are hungry, but dinner is at .... Now, either stop whining, or go in your room where I can't hear it". Kind but firm.

It sounds to me like he wants what he wants when he wants it, and he's playing you a bit.

If you want him to take a nap at 1, then tell him he's taking a nap!

Ok...NOT picking on you, and I'm not standing there listening to it, nor do I know your little man, so it's easy for me to be "mean mommy" from here!

My Ds has a schedule that looks like this~ (i'm also thinking about having one like this for the DCKs)

He gets up BEFORE the SUN! He usually gets up between 5am and 6am.
I put him back to bed with a juice cup of water bc I think he's really thirsty.
He doesn't usually protest and goes back to sleep.
Up at 7-730 also breakfast time.
        Snack at 930
        Lunch at 11
Nap after lunch (sleeps better on a full belly) 1130
up by 2 (usually takes a few mins for him to settle, I will go get him if he's not up at 2. 2hr MAX for nap)
        Snack at 2
        Dinner at 430-5
        Bath by 6-630
Sometimes he gets another snack, sometimes not...
        Bed by 730

My kids used to have dinner at 4 but the oldest two are in school now.
