Arg! One Of My SA's Drew On My Leather Carseat!

I took the kids to school this morning, and one of them informed me that on that back of the 2nd row seats, one of the SA's in the 3rd row drew a lovely picture, in black pen! Seriously?! I don't even know where she got a pen, unless it was in her bag  Anyone have any tips how to remove black pen from grey carseat leather? I told her mom...she is not happy...should I charge the mom some kind of fee? This child totally knows better

I would find out who did it and then make them clean it..SA should be held responsible for their actions. I would also start having them hand over their school bags as they get into the car for pickup. This way NO more possible ways they can get a hold of a pen.

This child knew what they did was wrong.

Look on youtube to see how to clean it......I also have leather seats, but my husband bought some special spray that he bought from the car wash place.

You might call a car dealership and ask them the safest way remove it.

Leather World Technology A Leader in providing you with quality leather repair, vinyl repair and color restoration products for leather furniture, upholstery, & vinyl goods.

I would make the SA do odd jobs around your house to pay you back for the cost of the cleaning supply and then make them help you clean it up.....

I would not think that nail polish remover would harm real leather but probably harm PLEATHER (plastic leather). But I would use hair spray or isopropyl alcohol and maybe a magic eraser. The latter is a gift from the cleaning gods.
                  I see little people.

I love my magic eraser. I don't know why I didn't think of that-please don't let my little eraser know I didn't offer up his services, he would be so hurt-::

We have a pretty tight cleaning bond-

Try a Mr Clean eraser....those seem to remove EVERYTHING!

I would absolutely make the child be responsible for possibly cleaning out your vehicle...I would be careful letting them use any type of cleaner to clean the pen off unless it is not something on the list of things kids can't be around...kwim?

How old is this SA kid?

Wow! I would be so mad! SA is plenty old enough to know better! I am not sure I would charge the family anything because of it though unless you do have to have it professionally cleaned.

Otherwise, I would try to see if you and the parent can come up with a resonable and age appropriate punishment for the child.

They should absolutely be held accountible in whatever way you (and parents) come up with.

iso propyl alcohol is one of the first ingredients in my nail polish remover....the DIY site also suggests using nail polish remover (or hair spray)to get out ink stains in leather.

I've never had the issue, but that is what they are saying..http://www.ehow.com/how_5053172_remo...her-couch.html

isn't hairspray supposed to work on ink?? I think I'd try that first. Magic eraser may work but may also take some of the color off (it did on my walls anyway!).

I think if it doesn't come out and a car dealer can give you info on how to get it professionally cleaned I would charge the parent for it!

I have off white leather couches in my living room and have used Mr. Clean erasers to remove pen marks many times. It takes them right off! It doesn't seem to do anything to the leather.
