Does Anyone Have Any Experience With The Bumgenius Cloth Diapers?

Im just wondering how long do they last for before you change them.

Do they leak, I just need a little more info about them.

They should not leak. Changing depends on the frequency that the child wets themselves. They should be changed just about every time the child uses the restroom.

I have a 7 month old in them now. They seem to be pretty good about not leaking and are super easy to use.

The DCM of the child said she reasearched for months prior to deciding to use the BumGenie ones. She said they are bar far the BEST cloth diapers in her opinion.

About how often do you have to change them? They already seem big and bulky, so i dont know how to tell. and i dont want them to leak on her clothes.

My daughter uses several different brands, BumGenius being one of them. I try to change her as soon as I notice she's wet or every couple of hours. But if we are out running errands, she may wet several times before I get to where I can change her and we never have a problem. BumGenius and Fuzzibunz are great for not leaking. We never have issues with either of those brands. The little ones can feel when they are wet a little more than disposables because disposables are designed to wick the wetness away from their bottoms a little better than cloth. So depending on their age, they may show signs of being uncomfortable in them when they are wet.

I change them every hour to 2.5 hrs, and I haven't had a problem (other than the odd diaper explosion that would have happened with disposables too).

I would say they'd hold a couple of good sized pees (sorry, tmi!). Of course that totally depends on how much the child has been drinking, but I wouldn't leave it longer than 3 hours, if at all possible.

I change my little one about every 2-3 hours. I put a fresh one on right before nap and sometimes nap lasts about 3 hours for this one and the diaper has never leaked as of yet.

Mom usually only sends 3 (although I asked for 4 just in case) per day. Child is here from 8:00-3:30 and it has worked out fine.

I am old so the cloth diapers I used were not the fancy new ones. But really I changed cloth diapers on the same schedule I do disposables.

It depends of the type of bumgenius diapers. I can leave my son in a free time for close to 3 hours. their pocket I need to change every 1.5-2 hours. My son is a heavy wetter so he needs changed sooner than most. I've only ever had leaking issues if they weren't washed right or were left on for over 3 hours.

                    I lovethis bumgenius!

I change all babies every1.5-2 hours (3.5 over naptime) and the cloth diapered butts make it just as long as the disposable ones.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

                      I lovethis Bumgenius also.

I used them for my DS and Ive had one cloth diaper client that also used them. In my opinion from using a few different kinds, these are the easiest and best kinds to use. How often you need to change them depends on how they are being used, the age/size of the child, how much they eat/drink etc.

With my own son I changed him every 1.5-2 hours. He drank a lot of fluids and gets rashes easily and changing him that often worked just fine for me. I change the other kids every 2 hours anyway so it's alomost the same amount of time. I used the pocket diaper with a resusable insert and added an extra reusable liner on top of that (but not inside the pocket) for extra absorbancy. I also used flushable liners on top of the extra liner so that when he went doo-doo I could just remove the disposable liner and flush it along with the doo-doo down the toilet.

If I didn't use the extra cloth liner I would probably be changing my son's diaper more often to keep him from getting diaper rash. I never had leaking problems however I used disposable diapers at night so that I wouldn't have to wake him at night to change him. I think I got the 2.0 diapers which are also adjustable so he used them from infant up until about 6 months ago (so for a year and a half).
