    Potty Training

I am an assistant teacher for the 3 yr old class and we have some children 3 and a lil under who are stil in diapers. it is very difficult for me to remember to change the diapers during transition time especially since my lead teacher normally changes diapers but she will start out helping me ant then just leave and i have no idea what was done or not. I would like to know at what age should children be out of diapers? And should they be moved to the 3 yr old class if they are still in diapers? And is potty training a part of "being ready" to move on to the xt class even though they are not quite that age yet? Please help! I am tired of feeling like a failure!!!!!

    You are not a failure.

What you are dealing with is such a common complaint and I am so sorry you are dealing with it.

It does seem more and more kids are still not "trained" at older and older ages... This leads the centers to HAVE to move them up regardless.

The only thing that I know will help is making yourself a "cheat sheet" that you check off when you have changed all of your non-potty trainers. It won't help with the co-worker issue, but it will cover your back.
    - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

Keep a sharpie in the changing area, and write the time of the last change on the kiddo's diaper. Ask your supervisor or anyone else working there to do so as well. If you write it on the back, you can just check the back of the diaper and know when the child was changed.
