Heater came on just fine yesterday during the day, but last night it wouldnt turn on. Tried moving the little lever up and down and got nowhere. So another night freezing. The service repair guy came and looked at it yesterday, cleaned off the sensor a little. Said it should be working. Going to try replacing the thermostat with a new digital one i picked up last night. Still not sure its going to help. UG
Still Not Heat

We don't use heaters very often...but, we do use air conditioners. If I had a repair guy out there, and he just cleaned a little sensor off then said "This should work" and tried to leave, I'd have tackled him in the driveway, and made him CHECK to SEE if it was working before he left. I hate that laziness.
"That'll be $50... I hope it works".- Flag

Its not laziness. It works just fine during the day. But in the middle of the night it doesnt. So its hard to troubleshoot it"God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.'"

check you thermostat. A couple of weeks ago ours wouldn't turn on (the heat) and we couldn't figure it out either. It didn't show that it needed a new battery so we couldn't figure it out. So dh asked the guy (he repairs them) at work and he told us that our thermostat conked out and we have to buy a new one. Works fine now.- Flag

Well the days are warm, but the nights are pretty cold. We have insulation otherwise i would have invested in some pace heaters by now"God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.'"

I feel your pain. It's starting to get pretty cold at night here and our heater is not working. I knew this day would come because it wasn't heating well at the very end of last winter. Then summer came and guess what..had to invest in a new central AC. Grrr....I really envy people with savings right about now.- Flag

Those sensors are pretty easy to clean. I paid a repair guy $200 a couple of years ago when our furnace wasn't working and all he did was clean the sensor. A week or so later it started acting up again so I googled how to do it and figured it out myself. It was literally one screw, remove the thing and clean it with steel wool, then put it back. I have to do it every now and again when the furnace won't kick on.- Flag

I would call the repairman back and tell him he did not fix the issue.- Flag
