Purchasing new cribs...does this meet standards?

I have to get rid of PNP's for sleeping and am in the process of purchasing cribs. (I am in Iowa) Does anyone know if this one meets Iowa Standards??? http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60091931/

Or can you link me to a reasonably priced one that does?

Also, when do you transition your littles to nap cots? I have always done PNPs for under 2, and nap cots for over 2. Just trying to decide how many cribs to buy. I never enroll more than 2 under 1 at a time, and usually only just have 1 under 1. I am not allowed more than 4 under 2, but have never had more than 3 under 2.

Why do you have to get rid of pnp? We don't in MN. New standards only apply to metal or wooden cribs. Just curious. I thought this was a federal thing not a state thing.

We can't use PNPs for sleeping anymore.

All cribs that meet the new safety standards are required to have a certificate proving they were manufactured after a certain date and meet all required safety standards. If you don't have the certificate, you can call the manufacturer and request one (if the crib meets the standards).

The CPSC first required new crib standards and are currently working on new safety standards for PNP/playpens with mesh siding. These new rules are suppose to be in place sometime in 2013 I think.

I would also specifically ask your licensor about using mesh sided PNP's since MN rules say:

        9502.0425 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT Subp. 9.

        Infant and newborn sleeping space.

There must be a safe, comfortable sleeping space for each infant and newborn. A crib, portable crib, or playpen with waterproof mattress or pad must be provided for each infant or newborn in care. The equipment must be of safe and sturdy construction that conforms to volume 16, parts 1508 to 1508.7 and parts 1509 to 1509.9 of the Code of Federal Regulations, its successor, or have a bar or rail pattern such that a 2-3/8 inch diameter sphere cannot pass through. Playpens with mesh sidings must not be used for the care or sleeping of infants or newborns.
