    My Wish List Worked

I decided I was not raising my rates this year but taking some extra days off instead. So I posted on my childcare facebook page that inreturn donations are welcome. already wipes and gluehave come in. If they do this every few months it will keep my costs down and not cost them much.

When I thank them online someone else remembers and brings something

I wonder if I ask everyone for $10 if we could get a new trike?

I love the idea of donations. As a parent I never minded donating disinfectant wipes, flushable wipes, hand soap, etc. I actually loved it as I thought it was fun. My kids are not in school yet, but it reminded me of supplying the 'classroom' with items, so I liked it. I also know my son uses those things on a daily basis, so I didn't mind!

Asking for money, though, I'm not sure. I would much rather buy candy bars or kids stuff for a 'fundraiser' for a new trike, than to donate $10. BUT... I personally would have given the $10, I just don't know if all parents would be comfortable with it. I would personally do a fundraiser selling something, and also note that if parents would like to make donations instead of buying items from the fundraiser, you accept donations as well.

My parents are all required to bring one box of tissue and one re-fill package of wet wipes on the first of each month.

I am floored at how much money this saves me and at the stockpile of tissues and wipes I have gotten since implementing this rule at the begining of the school year in September.

Only one family has brought in their November stuff so all this is just from September and October.

Love your stockpile! I do couponing, so I stock pile lots of personal care products about 1-2 times per year. I bought shpoo, cond, body wash, and razors 2 years ago, and we are finally almost out!

I like the idea of requesting things the 1st of every month, and I will have to make a list of my own!

I found that providing supply lists worked ok in the beginning, but over time everyone basically stopped bringing in things. I also found that you really can't rely on anyone bringing in the items and I usually end up having to purchase it anyway. To be honest, I don't even know why I do supply lists anymore.

I can't wait to send out the letter regarding fee increases. I bet it's going to go over reeaaally well !

I have parents supply wipes monthly. I have a dry erase board on the door with all of the children's names and a check mark if they brought the wipes. Parents never forget when they see everyone else will know. I think some even race to be the first ones with a check.
