My little one year old's mommy is having issues with the DHS and her paperwork. So for the moment she is not coming back until that is taken care of. Kind of has me bothered though since they took the spare car seat which they gave me for our car. Im beginning to wonder if she is really coming back and just not telling me. The only day this week she has been here was Wednesday. Her mommy only brings her when shes working so this hasnt been the most consistent child. Still i hate that it is bugging me so much

Do you charge per week or per day? I think it is always good to charge a flat weekly rate because of situations like this and if DCP doesn't continue to pay the weekly rate to hold a spot, they risk losing their spot. (I charge daily here and regret it so much! Next year I am switching to a weekly rate because I have this same problem...DCPS that try to save a $ and only send their DCK 2-3 days a week instead of the full 5).- Flag

Shes made the point she cannot afford to pay out of pocket that is why she is on DHS. I am hoping things turn out positive and im just paranoid... i hope. Either way i am at least keeping my add in CL for now."God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.'"

It sounds like she's not on DHS..or at least she's not approved yet if she's having problems with the paperwork. I charge all of my DHS clients until I get approval to bill DHS and when that happens, if DHS pays back pay from the time the paperwork was handed in, I refund the parent what they paid in cash as soon as I'm paid by DHS.
I hope this parent was paying you out of pocket while her paperwork was underway or that you had prior approval from DHS that you would be able to bill them. I know there are people who say they are applying for DHS or that they have been approved and then stay at a daycare without paying until the provider starts asking why DHS is taking so long. Then they head for the hills, never to be heard from again and start looking for another provider to take advantage of. A friend of mine watched 3 children full time for an entire month only to have this happen to her...$1500 she will never see.- Flag
