    Kind of Cool...

We went for a ride today, and a huge blue and white plane came low overhead. Not common around here, although military planes are.

I just checked, and it was Airforce One! Dang, I would have stopped and waved...

Is he in town for his campaign. Surprised it was flying low.

I'm sure the crew and Mr. President would have been waving right back!

        Very cool!

Just curious.....how did you find out what plane it was? I'm wondering because a few months ago, a plane flew over our house. It looked like a small (relatively speaking) commercial jet maybe - not one of the small private planes we see that fly out of the small, local airport in town. It was flying so low that it barely cleared the trees in the yard. We could hear it coming but by the time we saw it, it was flying past the house on the left and heading away from us. It was low enough that I said to my son, "I'm glad I saw it when it was heading away from the house. If I had seen it flying toward us, I would have....!" Well...I won't quote myself exactly but let's just say, I would have had some extra laundry to do that night! After it flew by, I wondered if there was a way to figure out what plane it was or where it was coming from. If it ever happened again, I'd want to make a complaint but have no idea who I would complain to. I seriously would have had a heart attack if I had been out with the kids in the yard playing as it flew by.

          This is what we saw:

Like I said, we dont really see a lot of commercial planes around here, because the nearest big airports are at least an hour away, if not more. There is a military base, but their planes are either fighter jets or big fat gray things

Yeah, same here. We're used to seeing the big gray cargo planes and every once in awhile, a fighter plane or two. We do see small private planes but none ever fly as low as that plane we saw a few months ago. I was stunned to see how low that was and even more stunned when it didn't crash!
It definitely didn't look like AF1, though. I guess I won't be calling the president to complain!
