This is my 2nd week with dcb... things are going great! He plays, gets into stuff, plays some more, you know the drill. I have one concern though, he loves to crawl everywhere.. and I have hard wood floors. my floors feel very cold some days since we have been getting cold weather. I hate to keep him in the pack and play, but when his little hands and feet (he will not keep his socks and shoes on) start to feel cold, I put him in the pap for a little bit.

What do you do with your crawlers? I don't want him to get sick, or anything from being on a cold floor playing all day! He already has a clear runny nose.

Could you put him in a sleeper (the ones with the feeties)?

I did not think about that! I could pick some up for him and just change him while he is here... He loves to crawl and play but I will feel so bad if he gets sick.

I am a firm believer that you get sick from germs, not from cold! I used to go out with my hair wet every day for years & nevrr had a problem. i mean my hair would freeze it was so wet! If your floors are clean I dont think you have anything to worry about....sleeper is a good idea though!

You get sick from germs, not from being cold. If he has a runny nose it's probably just because he's new to your home, kids, and the germs there so he'll get sick at first and then build up his immunities once he's been with your group for longer.

Cold hands and feet is not a big concern. If it bothered him, he would likely complain.
