    Bad Check... Well Sorta

A DCF that I have been having issues with & I thought we somewhat resolved- bounced a check

Received a letter from my bank in the mail stating that the DCF wrote 2 different amounts on my check. Granted its only a few dollars, but that's not the point. They adjusted the amount and thankfully did not charge me any bank fees.

How would you handle it? It was an honest mistake BUT it was because DCF was in a hurry and "forgot" to pay me at drop off so brought the check over about 1 1/2 hours after drop off.

Maybe my November newsletter will highlight "RESPONSIBILITY"

    Ugh I just can't win.

Just briong the situation up, face to face with the parent and let them know if you have any further issues with checks/banking in the future that the family will be swtiched to cash only.

Parent have until 5pm on the day fees are due to hand there fees over... if it's any later than that, they are charged my $25/day late fee. If you require that payments be made at drop-off, I suggest you implement your daily late fee beginning immediately after drop-off. It will likely help with late payments in the future.

I would make sure they know the situation but it sounds like a mistake and not an intentional error. I would let it go.

This is what I did. My frustration is if she had written the before drop off this might not have happened, pretty sure it happened bc she was rushed to get the check to me (does that make sense???)

Oh well. Today I am frustrated- tomorrow I laugh ::

Nope. Tell her that fees are due at drop off (ALL fees - weekly payments, late fees, inconveniences fees, etc) otherwise more late fees will be tacked on ($25/each). She won't "forget" in the morning if she's going to be faced with a $25 fee each morning...
              Also, no pay no stay.
