    Questionable Birthday Gift From DCM

Every time I have adult friends over I get teased because I only offer chocolate milk, apple juice, orange juice, etc. It's a daycare home 24/7. So I installed a wine glass rack in my kitchen because my friend had one and I loved the look. I also wanted to make my home look like an adult lived there at least on the weekends. Long story short....My birthday just passed and a dcm thought a good gift for me would be a bottle of liquor, glasses to drink it from, and the cutest teddy bear with angel wings of course my gift from the 2yo dcb. Did I mention that when she dropped it off she smelled as if she had a few glasses herself?? Well I guess now I have something to offer my adult friends when they visit....?

I get bottles of liquor from many of my parents so I don't think it's strange. As far as DCM smelling like a distillery, let's hope she spilled some on her clothes. I hate to think she was driving DCK to daycare buzzing.

You have a mom that gives you birthday presents? I wouldn't care how inappropriate it seemed, I'd hug her neck!

Honestly, the liquor was probably a poor choice if she didn't know you very well, but nice glasses can always be used. Nothing says juice can't go in a wine glass. ::

      Seriously, happy birthday!

Now that's a way to look at it. Thanks for helping me look outside of the box xoxo. I think I'm gonna love it here!

I've had lots of daycare parents give me bottles of wine as gifts. I think they think I need it after dealing with their kids all day but they don't know that I don't drink at all so I don't fault them for it - I usually just regift them.

I've had many parents over the years give me wine. I have always thought it was a nice gift to get!

She probably understands how difficult it is to child wrangle ... I mean take care of children and wanted to help a sistah unwind. ::

I've never gotten liquor from a parent but would prefer that over bubble bath soap or shower gel.

Shower gel/bubble bath says "Ya kind of smell funny. Here use this."

At least liquor says "I know you work hard so here is something to make you forget what a bugger Little Jimmy is. Oh, and for the last three times I fed him Oreo's for breakfast on the way over."
