    Anyone Ever Cancelled A Party?

I'm about at my wits end with dck's this month. Their behavior has me screaming into my pillow EVERY night. Usually we do a few extra fun things and they can bring their costumes, but honestly, I just don't want to do it. I don't want to "reward" them for the way they've been acting this month. Sure, they will probably behave that day, but I'm sure will go back the next (or even that afternoon since we usually do it in the morning). Has anyone ever cancelled or put a party on hold?

Just another day at mema's house is ok! Send them home with a trick or treat bag.... you've done your part.

I have postponed until the following day before, but for behavior just prior to the start of the party.

I felt it would have been a disaster and I put a lot of time and money into set-up and decorations. My goal at parties is fun Holiday Heirloom photos.

I would not postpone todays party for yesterdays infractions, though. Each day begins with a clean slate. All of mine are 4 and under, though.
      - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

If it had been any day this month based on behavior just prior to it, it would have been postponed everyday. It has been that kind of month. By 9-915 I am ready to call it quits and send them all home. I don't want to get the stuff and get it all prepared and then not do it because the day started off horrible and that's why I'm thinking of just not doing it all together. I don't know, maybe I'll feel different after a hopefully refreshing weekend.

I've never had to cancel, but if my kids were not behaving for days/weeks/months on end, I absolutely would. I would just inform parents that this year you are not allowing costumes on Halloween and that it will be just another day as usual at your house. If anyone asks, just let them know that the majority of the children have been misbehvaing lately and you don't think they are ready for or deserving of a party. Simple.
