    Does Weather Affect Kids?

    Does anyone else notice that when weather changes kids behaviors change also? Well, I have noticed this for the last 3 years and decided to finally ask if anyone else has this issue.

    I have a hard group but when the weather changes I notice behaviors seem to excalate more. About late September, early October behavior just seem to go crazy. Then right after Thanksgiving break everything is fine till about Feb.. Then behaviors seem to excalate again till around June, then everything is fine through the summer.

    Does anyone else notice this or is it just my group. We go outside as much as possible but it can't be daily due to the rain/cold/foggy weather we get here. Also, it perplexes me of why all of a sudden do they get better after Thanksgiving break and are fine during the summer?

    My kids are normally pretty even keeled (I have no idea how I scored this! : but this has not been the case lately! They've definitely been acting up!

    I think being stuck inside and the "doom and gloom" of our area (as my grandma calls it ) plays apart! I know I can feel a change in my attitude when the cold and grey sets in! Maybe by Thanksgiving we've all accepted the weather as it is, we've gotten used to it, so that's why they even out after then?

    I hope mine even out before thanksgiving or this is gonna be a long month!

      Well I notice it particularly with one child. The first year, thought no big deal. Last year-over the top. Had to call parents to remove child one day as they were out of control and be very aggressive towards me. This year not aggressive but just out of sorts all the time.

      My whole group has changed behavior wise though as a group in the last month. This is also the time of year that naps also start not happening as a whole group-not just one or two.

      Its just something that I noticed over the last three years and had never noticed in any of my other groups before.

        Heck yes I notice it most in children that have special needs. When L came I could tell when it was going to rain 30 minutes before when the barimetric pressure dropped he would start ouncing off the walls.

        At the same time I had a dcd who was deputy and he said the jail had problems about the same time.

        funny the other kids take great naps when it happens
        It:: will wait
