Is It So Wrong To Want Some Quiet

So i have one good ear, its my right one. I actually have partial hearing loss in that ear. My left ear doesnt work at all but i have a little aid device called a Bone Anchor Hearing Aid attached to the bone behind my ear. So i can pretty much turn off my left ear and put my right ear down on the pillow and shut out pretty much most noise. This only doesnt help when it comes to being able to hear my wife or kids after we are all gone to bed. But sometimes when its nap time and the kids are whinning in their cribs, i just want to turn off my ears and get some quiet.

I once had an ear wax clog in one of my ears so big that I couldn't hear out of that ear. I remember laying down on my bed and putting the good ear in the pillow to drown out one of my kids screaming. It was a nice few minutes.

LOL I wish I could do the same in the afternoons when all the little DCKS run inside trying to talk over one another!

                    Nothing wrong with that!

I have 75% hearing loss in my left ear and will purposely turn my left side to a tantruming or particularly whining child.

A few years back I cared for a 5 year old who had dual choclear implants. If she didn't like what you were telling her she would simply reach up & turn the outer ear device off, or take it off all together

I completely understand. I had an awful headache today, so I told the preschoolers I didn't want them to put the music on today (we let the kids control the cd player).
