    Please define "Mildly Ill"

    Good morning friends,

Could you please define mildly ill for me?

Also what do you do when a DCP brings in a child and says "I will be making a doctors appointment for DCK, he is coughing now and not getting better its time he is seen"

Um yeah. and dumb ass me let him stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Funny thing is-
they say he has a runny nose, I haven't had to wipe his nose
they say he is coughing, its very mild
He is acting normal, to me anyways.
So he is either just "mildly ill" and the parents are being over protective or its a case of the dope & drop.

Am I in the wrong to request a doctors note IF they do take him today?? Am I in the wrong if I make a copy of my sick policy?

I am ready to quit. 2/4 kids here today sick and I don't have the guts to stand up for my rules. Maybe I need to really really need to ask myself why I am in this business.

    Mildly ill:

Clear, runny nose that is not constant
Slight cough. Not hacking, not constant, not barking
No fever. Regular energy levels and happy disposition.

If they feel he needs a doctor, he is too ill for daycare.

Mildly Ill is referred to here as common childhood illness. Anything that can be accepted with minor accommodations. (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, mild diarrhea, covered rash, constipation, etc.)

It is possible the child has been medicated and the parent is referring to child's pre-medicated state.

The doctors note can't hurt, IMHO. It is Flu and RSV season.
      - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.
