    Fan, Meet Excrement

We've been hurting financially anyway but now I'm losing two dcks as of Dec 1. Not my fault, job transfer, but still. I've had an opening since May and haven't been able to fill it so now I'm just absolutely panicking.

That is all. I'm just...in shock. And terrified of the future.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

So sorry-. That is one thing that is hard with childcare, your whole world can change in a minute depending on the number of kids you have. One month/year you can be making all kinds off money and the next one your barely making it.

Oh dear. I know that feeling all too well. The worst is getting that news around the holidays. I know it's hard to stay positive in times like this, but I think that everything always works out in the end... it just might not be the way you expected it to.

Are all the providers in your area sturggling for clients? Do you take part-timers or school age? If not, now might be the time to advertise different kinds of needs in order to get SOME income coming in. Can you or hubby pick up some weekend/evening hours here and there at another job to help suppliment? Is working out of the home an option?

      *big hugs*

I'm so sorry. {hugs} I know how you are feeling. It's been tough here too. I've been doing this for 20 years, and almost always get my kids from word of mouth, and have always had a waiting list up until 3 years ago.

I lost 5 kids at the end of August after being with me for 3 years because they moved on to Kindergarten. I've been advertising and spreading the word like crazy about my openings, and still haven't been able to fill them. I have only had 5 calls in 2 months, 3 of which all lived on the wrong side of town and were too far. The other 2 were daycare providers (babysitters), just wanting to get info from me.

It's depressing. I hope things start to look up for you soon.

I too know that feeling. Its really slow here too. Can your dh pick up extra hours, thats what my dh does, but its winter time so he would rather be at work than rake up the yard (which is an acre covered in leaves)

No advice, just hugs & a shoulder if you need it.

I will say, I saw the title and thought some dck got into his diaper & threw poo into a rotating fan

              Me too!

I've been there. I wasn't covering my bills over the summer. Now I'm grateful my numbers are up, but things change so easily and quickly in daycare.
Hang in there. Lots of people switch daycare with the new year!
