    I don't trim nails, too afraid of snipping fingers of wiggly kids

    For my own kids I filed, never cut either.

    I will file down a rough edge of a daycare kiddos torn nail but other than that it's the parents job and part of regular and reasonably hygiene.


    I would have no trouble asking a parent to trim nails, and I cannot at all see one getting offended by it.

      "Hey mom, little Johnny accidently scratched another child, his nails are too long. Can you clip those?" Just a more diplomatic way than saying they are gross dirty.

        I had a DCB have a toenail FALL OFF because it got infected. I have cut this dcb's nails every single week since that incident, and cleaned his ears, and today I even bathed him since he still had the washable stamps from Friday on his little hands.

        I don't do this job for the parents, but this little guy was SO HAPPY to be cleaned and comfortable that he gave me a huge hug and said he loved me. lovethis
