Just For Fun - Provider Definitions vs Parent Definitions

    He just got up!
Provider definition: child is fresh and ready for the day.
Parent definition: kid didn't get diaper or clothes changed.

    I'll pick up "early!"
Provider definition: right after nap and snack
Parent definition: 5:20p.m. rather than 5:30p.m.

    She's "teething."
Provider definition: sick and most likely should not be in care
Parent definition: sick but I really just want/need to get to work

    She already had "breakfast."
Provider definition: the child had a well rounded meal and should not be hungry
Parents definition: She had some fruit snacks and a swig of Rockstar on the way over.

Provider definition, a little off schedule
Parent definition, threw up twice and had diarrhea

    She felt a little warm
Provider, child was overdressed or maybe teething
Parent, she had a fever of 101 but i gave her tylenol and hopefully the fever wont comr back until i get her home so she can come to daycare tomorrow too

        ::

It's cold today so there's extra clothes in the bag
Provider definition: There's a coat, closed toe shoes, gloves and hat in bag
Parent definition: There's socks (even though DCK is in sandals) and a long sleeve shirt 2 sizes to small

          These are hilarious! Great thread.

          I forgot my checkbook
Provider definition: I'm so sorry, I'll be right back with it.
Parent definition: I forgot and assume you won't care if I pay you tomorrow... or the next day...

            How was his day?::
Provider Definition: Mom and Dad actually care about how child felt and behaved today.
Parent Definition: I want to hear only good things so I can justify giving him the bag of Froot Loops I have in the car and he will be quiet for me on the drive home.

              This happened today.

              "I open at 7:30a.m."
Provider definition: I'll be ready to start at 7:30a.m.
Parent definition: I am going to come in at 7:22 and sit in a chair while you throw some clothes on your wet self because you just stepped out of the shower!

                boys will be boys

                Provider--they must be busy
Parent--I hope they behave and don't fight today because then I can give them another new toy, I hope the provider doesn't realize that no one wants to watch them because they are so bad.

they ate a good supper (my post about the eat nothing child)

provider--she ate a good healthy balanced meal
parent--hopefully she doesn't have a diarrhea type poop so the provider doesn't realize that all she ate was junk

                        These are great!

                        She's an easy baby!
Provider: she takes bottles easily, likes to spend time on the floor, falls asleep on her own, and is on a good schedule.
Parent: screams half the day even if you're holding her, nurses to sleep and is held for all naps, has never had a bottle, and her golden bum never touches the floor.

                        Our old sitter is moving.
                        Provider: The old sitter...is moving...
Parent: we were kicked out for parental behavior/child behavior/nonpayment

Yes, she's been in daycare before.
Parent definition: has been in daycare before, is used to the rules and routines of a daycare situation, and is used to separating from parents.
Parent definition: Grandma watched her and coddles her even more than we do.

These are all so funny because we can all relate.

Then again...that's a sad statement about parenting today!

                            Provide appropriate lunch
Provider: a protein, a dairy, a fruit or vegetable, a grain, no candy.
Parent: cheetos (a grain), a dairy (chocolate milk), a protein (peanut butter crackers, the kind in a package) and gummy fruit snack (fruit or veg).
