My dck usually nap about 12-1230. So I will be taking care of her and then the other infants. So I might get 5 minutes to go to the bathroom but that will be it. So she is here during a difficult time. I also have one that is here from 2-5 and she pays my full rate. So WHY on EARTH did I give them a discount? Grrr... I know it only adds up to about 16 hrs a week and if it was 8-11 I woudln't really care about the discount, but it is right over the one time I have to sit down and let myself think... Oh, well...

I gave them until Sunday to let me know since they want to start on Monday and there is always that 2 week trial period
Call them up and let them know you quoted them the wrong price. Right off. Put it all back on yourself and say that you didn't really have a chance to think about your rates and the weekly rate will be ........ Then it is up to them if they want to stay with you or not.

I see it as they told you certain hours but will end up extending them down the week, little by little. Sell them the spot and then you won't regret taking them on. Give them a jingle on the tele asap. Best of luck- Let us know how you make out.

Thank you all for the encouragement. I am so glad to see I am not the only one who lets my heart do the talking ::

I sent them an email with my handbook and contract and asked them to please reply by Sunday so I could have time to get everything straightened out. I sent it to both dcd and dcm. I have yet to hear back from either one of them eventhough they said they wanted to start Monday (now tomorrow)

Sooooo, I am kind of hoping they don't. While I would like the extra money, I really don't think taking on an infant will be the best thing at this point. I have so many field trips and events planned and with an infant coming every single day, I think it will be much harder to do the activities for the older dcks.

IF by chance they do show up tomorrow, I will watch her for a few days at the quoted rate. I want to see if maybe she will nap with the rest of them. If not, then I will have to raise my rate to the full weekly rate. But I will do it after the first week and let them know so that they stil have a week in the trial period to either find other care or decide to stay.

I know they didn't respond, but i just have this feeling they are going to show up tomorrow morning. I will let you all know what happens!

Thanks again and I really really need to get a backbone. Really!!!
