So I have 2 DCK's age 3, with a frequent urge to pee... all day long. Most of the time there is output, however small. 1 of the little girls we assumed had a UTI, would cry and say tummy hurt, but her urinalysis came back negative. It eventually wore off, but she still grabs at tushy and says, "my tushy hurts inside"? Going #2 normally. I also have a DCB just turned three and now he is experiencing the same symptoms. I'm in the bathroom ALL DAY LONG with these two. Seriously, they're not independent in the potty at all, it's taking so much time. They're going up to 6 x's an hour. No fevers, saying tummy hurt, each went to the Dr. with all all clear. They've said it could be behavioral... but the urgency of right in the middle of playing or eating suggests it's something different. I would hate for this to run through the rest of my daycare. Is this something excludable, has anyone seen a virus like this?
A Virus? Can't Figure This One Out...

6x in an hour I'd be calling for them to be picked up immediately.
Did you get notes from the doctor or are you just going on the word of your parents that the kids were checked and the doc gave them the all clear?
If I were you I'd be asking the parents to bring the kids back in as it bothers me when they are hurting. I'd also be requiring a doctors note for their return.
Bladder/urinary tract infections are not contagious, so rest assured there. But if they're affecting the kids ability to function throughout the day and enjoy themselves then definitely exclude if you think it's necessary.- Flag

Are they urinating or defecating 6x an hour?- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

Most of the time they're saying they have to go, but not going at all... If they do go, it's a bit of urine. They're pooping normally. I'm just worried because they're hurting. But, I believe them when they say they've taken them to the dr. and they can't find anything wrong, but could be a virus. I'm just spending ALL day in the bathroom with these poor kids trying to go, and saying tummy hurts. No fever, playing in between bouts?- Flag

It sounds like it could be more about lactose intolerance, IBS or other food issues.
Are you noticing a pattern? About 30 minutes after eating; lasting up to two hours after eating meal/snack? After a transition, home visitor or tift with another child?- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag
