Hi. I am opening an in home daycare in MI and am wondering if anyone knows of any grants that may be available to help with start up costs. I have people (not in this profession) telling me there are small business grants and such, but I have not been able to find any and am not sure if a home daycare qualifies as a small business. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi! When I started in this location the state of MI offered a couple of grants that I applied for and got but those funds are gone with the economy. I did google searches and found them. You might contact your local Child Care Resource and Referral office. I know around here they have information on statewide grants specifically for child care operations.
