    DCB With Food Allergies

I have a dcb who's three and has been in care for about a month. Dcp advised he has a sensitive system to food but really downplayed it except for peanuts. Absolutely no peanuts. Okay...fine, no problem. So Friday, for no apparent reason, he starts vomiting everywhere after his snack of an apple and milk. Not just a little, all over the house. I called dcp and they picked up quickly. Thank goodness as I had 2 babies and three other toddlers and needed to get the mess contained. The thing that concerned me is that dcm called right before dcd picked up and acted like it was no big deal, and even alluded that this happens frequently. This is the first time in a month and I have him five days a week, 3 meals. He didn't eat anything that he hasn't eaten before. Should I be concerned? I'm not sure that I'm up for chronic vomiting and dcp that act like it's nbd:confused:

I feel that mom is being too vague on what his condition and needs are. You need to ask specific questions about this situation and get some answers. Dont let her brush you off. Its possible he has some sensitivities, not actually allergies, and maybe something he ate for breakfast finally caught up to him and caused him trouble.

PM me or look up some of the posts I have posted about my DD. She has a severe food allergy which presents itself as GI inflammation, diarrhea, intense vomiting etc. Vomiting in this house gets hardly a mention anymore. Prob why the mom was so "ehhh yea whatever" about it.

Does mom have a diagnosis for this child or just knows that he vomits alot?

In our case we know what to avoid ONLY AFTER she has reacted so we couldnt give you a for sure allergic list. I can give you a list of what she has eaten before with no issues but that can change at any one minute based on number of exposures and things like current GI inflammation, length of time since last exposure etc. Very vague. Prob similar to what dcm would say.

PM me and I would love to share what OUR experience has been. Unfortunately I don't have much on how to deal with this at daycare though.
