What are your rules for receiving schedule from flexible dcp?

What rules do you have in place for parents whose schedules change each week? When do you require they give you the schedule & what do you do if they do not give it to you? I have one family who is pt/flexible & when they started the first few weeks they were very good about getting the schedule to me Fri afternoon/early evening for the next week. I never said what I would do if I did not get it I only said I needed to ahve it on Friday. Unfortunately they are now taking their time & not giving it to me until Saturday evening or even Sunday. In fact 1 or 2 times I have texted them Sat afternoon & they have almost instantly texted the schedule back to me! So it seems like they normally know it but just don't take the time to give it to me. I don't want to ask for it & this weekend I have decided I will not & wait to see what happens. But this week I would like to write something up - some sort of fee for the inconveninece of not knowing. How do I word that & should I even do that? What is so hard about getting the schedule to me???? Advice appreciated!

ALL shedules are due by noon on Fridays.

If you fail to turn it in by Friday noon, you are NOT guaranteed space as I take a few fill ins now and thne from WAHM's and they call for available openings at 5:00 on Friday.

I also charge families who don't make the deadline for schedules my drop in rates for any time they need that week. AMAZING how they never forget to give me the schedule on time if they are charged more or don't have space available.

I don't think it is asking too much to have a weekly schedule by Friday at noon.

If you are having trouble with this family and have said something to them and they are still not complying, I suggest charging them a drop in rate since that is what they would be if they aren't scheduled....kwim?

I also think denying them space on a certain day would also prove a point to them as well. I know most families don't always remember but we are dealing with multiple families and multiple schedules. Turning in your schedule is not hard.

      Dear Family,

ALL schedules are due on Friday by closing.

If I do not have your schedule by then, you will NOT be guaranteed space the following week. If space is avaialble and your schedule is late you will be charge a drop in rate for services.

Please understand that schedules are needed in order for me to plan meals and daily activities for your child and the other children in my program.

      Thank you

Thank you! I will definitely apply/adjust some of your rules & I hope it will help things. Money does talk so I think charging them a higher rate would do the trick for sure if they don't call in or text the schedule by a certain time.
