    Special Toy

What special toy or maybe activity do you take out for the 2 year old's for when someone comes into the daycare and you need to be able to talk with that person and have peace or smoothness happen? Do you only play with this toy at this time? Something engaging that will keep their attention so they don't act up during this time.

    Food person
    license person
    fire marshal
    etc......

I don't necessarily take out a special toy to divert them but I do incorporate how to behave properly when visitors are present into out daily routine/learning times.

We often have people in and out of care so visitors are a regular thing here. My kiddos learn early on that they are expected to behave as normal during these times.

If you are looking for something special though to keep your little ones occupied, maybe get a box and fill it with little trinkets and toys from the dollar store that the kids have not seen or played with before. That should be something fun for them...especially if they ONLY get this box when you have visitors.

Playdoh is my go-to activity if I'm expecting a visitor. It keeps the kids occupied and quiet for quite awhile. We do play with it here and there but not too often so it's special when I do take it out.

OOh, Play-doh would be a good one!

My 2 yr olds would be in heaven! I suppose anything they don't normally get to use often would be a great idea to keep them busy.
