    Under Construction

We are having a new family room/play room built on the back of my house. It will take 4 weeks. UGH they are so loud. Any advice on how to have a successful naptime? I have 6 pre-schoolers who nap from 1pm to 3pm ages 2,3,3,3,3 & 4. The saw is going, hammers, loud bangs and men talking. Today I have two WIDE awake. I hope the parents are understanding.

Wow, you are lucky that you can have construction going on while DCK's are present.

We are currently in the process of having a new roof put on and my DH ahs to do ALL the work after DC hours and on weekends. We are NOT allowed to have ANY type of construction or remodeling done while kids are here.

We had construction going on one time for THREE months! I hated every minute of it and was ready to threaten divorce if it didn't get done. The thing was-part of it was my school room so we were crammed into my livingroom-8 kids!

Never again-till the bathroom needed it. Another story, but once again ready to threaten divorce if it didn't get done!

when we did our addition I made sure we were ready to lay down at 11 when the men left for lunch. If they were asleep the noise did not wake them too often.

I am allowed to stay open. I had to change our secondary exit to our garage until the room is finished. I also had to make sure they do not leave any tools/ equipment laying around. We have a fenced in playground in the side of our house so it has not been an issue. The noise at nap time has been UNREAL. I am going to try a lullaby CD tomorrow. It has been exciting to the kids watching the workers, supplies arrive, dumpster arrive and port a potty arrive LOL. We have French doors in our playroom now and the new playroom is much bigger being built on the back of the house so we can literally look out the door and see all the work being connected right at our feet. I LOVE the excitement the kids have watching. I am sure the Men feel odd having six toddlers staring at them. I did implement a NO KNOCKING rule on the doors! ::::::

If the lullaby CD doesn't work, try a CD of radio static! You can find tracks online, or just turn the radio to a static station. My dcks sleep through AN. Y. THING with that playing.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!
