    Broke the News

I told Dad that we need to look at other options. I feel terrible, but today was the worst so far. On and off crying from the little ones and then when they finally fell asleep, the older sibling wakes them up! Then he urinated on himself when I had him move away from his brothers so he would stop poking them. In 8 years I have never had to let a family go during the trial period. But yeah, this is the reason we have a trial period.

wow he urinated on himself? UGH! That should definately tell you that you made the right decision. Tomorrow when you wake up and realize that you don't have them, you are going to be soooo happy. It's not like you didn't give it a try.

I am so happy that you were able to make a firm decision and communicate with the family. Sometimes this is what happens and thankfully you have your policies in place to support your decision.

Hugs to you I know that this was not easy to do

Keep in mind I didn't term immediately. I did tell then I would provide care for a few more weeks until they find someone. I already have another family to take two of the spots so I can do it until Oct 8 or so.

That's fantastic that you already filled 2 spots!! Where do you think they're going to look now?

I am sure it was tough to have to tell them but I am betting they already sensed it was coming.

I think it is also really cool of you to offer to provide care until they can find alternate arrangements. I think that says alot about you.

I also think that caring for them will not seem so stressful now since you have a light at the end of the tunnel. Somehow, that always seems to make even the darkest day brighter.

              Hang in there..

I do have a form termination letter that I will give them tomorrow or Friday, just outlining the reason and end date.

No. For the first two weeks, I was optimistic. Last Friday I mentioned that there had been a lot of crying and that we should be further along at that point. This was to give him the inkling that it was not going smoothly. This week has been fairly awful and made me believe I was dealing with major aniexty So pretty much since Monday I have been professional but honest about the hard times the kids were having. In 8 years of my home day care this have never happened We has some issues at the preschool I worked in back in college, but either the kid turned the corner or the parents pulled.
