What do you have in your contract about a "trial" period? Have you ever let anyone go during that period? What are some of the reasons you would let someone go in that time? Thanks!
What Is Your "Trial Period"

My trial period is 2 weeks.
I haven't had anyone lately that hasn't made a good adjustment throughout that 2 week period so that I have had to let them go.
Reasons why I would though include, child not adjusting to our daily routine, parents not following my policies or if the parent was rude/disrespectful to me. I suppose there might be other scenarios that would cause me to not enroll after the 2 week trial period but that is all I could think of right now.- Flag

I took a trial period out of my contract a year or two ago for a few reasons - the main one being I NEVER used it in the 9-10 years I had it in there, another reason was I didn't want any instances where I had to refund a deposit/holding fee. The way my contract is written they never get that refund and they never leave owing me money. I prefer it that way.The reasons I would terminate in a "trial period" would probably have to be pretty severe like non-payment, aggressive behavior, etc. and are all the types of things listed in my "immediate termination, deposit forfeited". If I just have the shy/quiet ones I tend to want to give them more than 2 weeks to adjust so the trial period never worked for me. Only once did I ever have a kid who I can say really NEVER adjusted to my daycare.

Yes, I do think that there should be some show of adjusting....even in tiny increments, each day. If they are still behaving just like they were on day one despite everything you may have tried to help the child adjust, then they just might not be a good fit.- Flag
