How Do You Inform Of Late Payment Fee?

If you are expecting payment on Friday morning at drop off and have made it very clear to DCP verbally, in contract, & in policy book and they do not bring payment, how do you handle it? I charge a $10/day late fee including weekends.

    Do you text?
Do you verbally tell them at drop off?
Do you give them a warning?

Thanks! I am full of questions today

I tell them verbally. But I also follow up with a little memo stating that they were late and what the TOTAL amount due now is.

If I know I am getting the money at pick up and not drop off and there is a late fee now due, I would probably give the parent a heads up (through text, calling or how ever we normally communicate) telling them the total due so they have the full amount at pick up time.

If they aren't going to be paying until Monday, I would write out the total as well as tell them myself face to face what is due.

I would not accept them into care until ALL balances including late fees are paid in full. After so many days of not attending or paying, they are automatically withdrawn from care and no longer have a space here.

I will start collection attempts at that point as well.
