    How Much Should I Charge?

One of my families asked if I could watch their son from Friday night to Sunday morning. I have never done overnight weekend care. I did watch him once on a Saturday for a few hours for $10.00 an hour.

He is 14 months old and his daily rate is $40.00 a day.

    Thanks

hey there....are you still in NPB area?

I would probably charge about $200.00 for the weekend. Maybe $175.00.

I would charge at least $150 for the day and half of childcare.

You already set a rate of $10 an hour for Sunday so all daytime hours charge $10 an hour then from bed time to 6 am charge the normal daytime rate Plus more for it being a weekend.

cash in advance to hold the weekend.

other wise some relative will agree to do it for free or half of what she has to pay you . You will have canceled your plans and then at the last minute she will cancel.

              Hi,
Yes I still live in the area but closer to DP, SC area. I am thinking of charging $175. Why do I feel guilty for charging so much?

giiiirll you are so worth it. Don't feel guilty. It's part of being a parent. It cost to have fun when you have kids. The worst they could say, is can we lower the price, which in that case you can reconsider lowering it. But personally, I would not lower it. You're weekends should be priceless. That is the time that is meant for you and your family. Time for you to enjoy your life. IF anyone should feel guilty, it should be them for asking to take some of that away from you.

175 sounds great and maybe have them include food since if you are in a food program you can't bill for it. I also agree with the pay up front folks!
