I have a new client starting this Fri. Very PT Kindy kid. few days a week for only a few hours. They live a few houses away but far enough I can't see their house or vice versa without walking down the street.
DCD emailed, called, set up interview, came to interview with just DD, came back to pick up paperwork, came to drop off said paperwork, called once to confirm schedule. No sign of mom. I know she is around, he talks about her and has said he needs to check her schedule before he set anything up firmly. Today we walked by their house on a walk. Both parents were home and both kids were playing in the yard. Dad waved. Mom nodded. No hi, no hello you will be watching my angel, no nothing...... I did not feel comfortable trapsing my entire group up their somewhat long driveway to extend my hand and say HELLO, I AM YOUR KIDS NEW DAYCARE LADY. WANNA MEET?
Later in the day their younger one biked far away from home (hes not coming to daycare here, long story.... Ill spare details). I returned him to dad polietly when he biked in the street and dd came running "help.... my brother is running away." Dad seemed embarrassed. no sign of mom this time....
Is this strange?
