A lot of people have been posting about being irritated with "sub-par" CL ads.
I can't say I understand the rants at all. Seriously, who cares!!!!!!!!!!
There will always be good and bad doctors, good and bad electricians, good and bad teachers, good and bad employees in EVERY occupation. Bad doctors don't make good doctors look bad, bad electricians don't make good electricians look bad, bad teachers don't make good teachers look bad.....just like bad, ignorant or unintelligent daycare providers don't at all say anything about the good ones. If anything they HIGHLIGHT the importance of screening and offering your child the very best a parent can manage. "Bad" providers HELP good providers IMHO.
Just to put a different spin on all of the negativity, if everyone was exactly the same what would differentiate any of us? How could anyone stand apart from anyone else? There would be no such thing as competitive rates or being able to designate ones own daycare as anything special. Making a career out of child care would be next to impossible and it would be extremely tough to maintain a client base to support one's family.
Our differences, especially if you're lucky enough to be "better" than you perceive someone else - should be APPRECIATED!!!!
Fact is - above average providers, well educated providers, providers that have more to offer the kids in their care - make more money and can turn caring for children into an actual career.
Below average providers, unintelligent providers, providers that have less to offer the kids in their care - CAN'T.
Instead of feeling irked because another provider doesn't spell well, can't put together a complete sentence with perfect punctuation or offers rock bottom rates that cannot sustain the costs involved with actually being a lucrative business because they simply don't have much to offer we should feel *lucky*
In the end that's what's going to put food on our families tables before others who in turn are going to have to work that much harder to get to the same place we are blessed to be in, if they are ever going to be able to achieve that level of success at all.
I'm sorry but I'm so sick of reading posts about providers hating on other providers who are "less" than they are. I've never understood the purpose of backstabbing or knocking someone who doesn't come close to being on the same playing field as they are, especially when they have no way to defend themselves. Reads as extremely petty, steeped in jealousy and vindictiveness, among other things......
