What Time Is The Cutoff For Day Only Care-MI

I just got a call on my cell for 5am care. I'm not home at the moment otherwise I would look it up. So, if any of my fellow Michiganders could help me out, I will be forever grateful.

What time does day only care start according to licensing? I know overnight care requires certain things so I don't want to get myself in hot water over this.

According to the manual nighttime care is between midnight and 6am. I would have never even thought of starting the day at five as being considered overnight care-unless of course the child came and I want back to bed for a couple of hours!6

Thanks! I wouldn't think starting at 5 would be considered nightime care either. I put a call into licensing about it, but prolly won't hear from them until next week. Just to be safe, I'll call the lady back and tell her I open at 6. Might be shooting myself in the foot, but such is life. It is in the manual so I could get dinged for it-at least that's how I'm looking at it.

I have had 4am and 5am drop offs and never considered them overnighters. The thought never crossed my mind tht licensing even cares. They're all sleeping at that time. ::

I'm guess I'm confused, maybe I missed something because I don't do overnight care but why would licensing care what time your kids come in the morning. Why couldn't you take a child at 5:00 a.m. if you wanted to?

I think you could have drop off be early in the morning and not have it considered night time care but the regs simply state that nighttime care is care between the hours of midnight and 6. They don't go into any details about it at all.

I wouldn't worry about it. You are doing day time care it just starts at 5:00 a.m.
