Photo albums!! Blackcat, you are a total genius!!!! Why didn't I think of that? My kids love looking at pictures of themselves. They will sit forever scrolling through the pictures on my camera. Off to make an order from t he photo shop. They are going to love this!!! Thank you!!!

big blocky cars/trucks (like the Hot Wheel ones but toddler sized)
    Large cars/trucks
    Wooden blocks
A bin full of Little People/vehicles
    Board Books/photo albums
    Duplo blocks/waffle blocks
    Baby dolls/cradle and highchair
2 inflatable beach balls/4 nerf balls/basket ball net
    giant plastic dinos
    plastic farm animals/barn
    plastic snap together beads/handheld mirrors
    kitchen/housekeeping stuff
set of plastic bins/boxes/crates (all sizes)
    6 canvas bags/purses and 6 hats
    dress up costumes
    drip/discovery bottles
    wooden puzzles/shape sorters/lacing cards

These items are in big Rubbermaid totes. I place 4 totes in the room each day. The next day I take them out and put 4 more different ones in.

Sometimes the kids will ask for specific ones and other times, they simply like to see what I put there and will play happily with whatever choices I give them.

I only do 4 per day because it is easier for them to clean up the mess with only 4 options and each day is like getting new toys because they act as if they have never seen the stuff in each tote before. ::

This is for our free-play sessions when an organized or structured activity is not already taking place.

I have 3 2 year olds, they love to dump and scatter. The only toys they really want to play with is what the other kid has, once they have it they don't want it anymore. BUT each of them plays great by themselves if the others aren't here, the kitchen, cars, puzzles etc. etc. but when they are together it's all a big competition.

reading these posts was like reading something I wrote!! I am new to the forum and this thread caught me eye. I am a director of a new childcare. I, too am running into the problem that my twos and sometimes threes dont have any interest in toys. reading these threads have been helpful in that I may have WAY to many options available. I swap out toys consistently but that think the amount of toys is the real problems. Thanks for the help!!!
