    How To Determine Rates...

Hi, I'm in the process of setting up my home child care business. I'm really torn on how I should charge families. Should I charge them weekly, daily or hourly? I ran a very small child care business in the past where I charged $180/week for full-time (30 hours or more) and $5.15/hr for part-time (less than 30 hours). From my experience I'm not sure if I really liked dealing with hourly rates. I'm leaning toward charging daily rates.... I don't know! Child care providers, how do you charge and what do you like/dislike about it? Thank You!!

I charge weekly. I don't like messing around with hourly rates.

I think that you will need to do whatever works for you. You should also know what the norm is in your area so you are competitve with other daycare providers.

I guess bottom line is do what works for you. Here are some other threads about rates https://www.daycare.com/forum/tags.php?tag=rates
