    Receipts For Drop-Ins?

Do you do receipts for drop-in care?

I hadn't really even considered drop in care but my friend approached me yesterday asking if she could bring her kids here a day or two this week because her sitter broke her leg(I couldn't do it this week but I told her to keep me in mind for the future), but then I realized I didn't really know how this would work. Receipts? Yes or no? I am legally unlicensed and this is not a registered business, which is also legal to operate where I am. I give receipts for all my families though. But have heard of other providers in my area not giving receipts for under a certain dollar amount. Is this even legal?

Legally, you need to claim all money you earn, no matter what amount. Whether or not she would need a receipt,I would leave that up to her.

True. With that said, if she pays cash and doesn't ask for one...

I give receipts for ANY amount of money that is paid to me. Period.

Whether they want one or not, I choose to give one for MY records.
