    Keepsake for children leaving daycare

Hello everyone! I joined quite a while back and this is my first post! When I have an issue/concern I love to come on here as we all seem to go through the same things.
Here is a little about me. I am in Canada and run a home daycare since 2000. I am married and have 2 teenage boys of my own and I am licensed with 7 spaces.
When school starts I will be losing 4 children to Kindergarten. I have had these 4 children for 3-4 years and they will all be going to different schools (except the twins ). I wanted to make something for them/with them that they can take with them and remember the friendships they have made here. I remember seeing somewhere about pillowcases for each of them and they can put their hand prints and names on each others to take with them. I like that one a lot. I was wondering what others might do? Any ideas are much appreciated!

i make photo album books that are for both the parent and child.

I spend about $5.00 on each one.

I give each child a special book... a copy of one they especially loved here or one that I know would interest them. Inside I attach a picture of our group and a picture of myself alone with that child. I also write a special little message in it for the child.

I took a photo of all of the kids together and had it made into a puzzle at Walgreens. I also bought them a copy of Dr. Seuss's Oh, The Places You'll Go! and wrote a personal note to each of them inside.

I do photo albums. Kids like to look through them and see themselves as 'babies' (mine started here at 3 and leave at age 5) and the parents love them as a keepsake!

I have done this for short-term kids. I love that book

Most of my kids are long term, so I have oodles of photos. I keep them snapfish.com; when I upload them, I sort them into their own photo albums. The parents have a link to their album and the general daycare one. For the kids, I do a 16 x 20 collage print, pulling from all the photos and call it "****** Daycare Days". Then I frame it in a poster frame.

I just did four of them for next week; with the discount coupon and free shipping it was less than $50 for all four. The kids absolutely LOVE them and so do the parents.

not sure if you have a costco close by you, but I do and I just made 14 of them for less than $50.00, but no frames...
