    Ok To Text DCM?

This is dcc 2nd week in care. Dcp dropped off and after leaving I noticed child did not have favorite blanket or special music parents think he needs at nap. Ughh and to make matters worse I get paid in advance and there wad no check in the bag. Would you text the parent picking up to verify it is being brought?

I would call and mention the missing check as well as the needed blanket/nap time music.

Since the child is new, calling to double check abotu both issues wouldn't seem out of line IMHO.

I agree with Blackcat. If parnts say that child needed special items I'd want them on hand ... on the other hand the child may do very well even without the blanket or the music, you neve know. I'd still call to mention it though. And deffinetely call about the check. I have a no pay, no stay policy (one of the reasons why payday for me is Friday otherwise it's late, is so that parents don't want to pay the extra $15 late payment on Monday).

Tks gals. I will call mom close to lunch. I think child will be OK without those things. I do want to be firm with parents about payment. I get paid in advance on the first day of week I provide care. Hope dcm planned to bring at pickup(someone else dropped off).

I'd just play the supply thing by ear, but send a text to mom " hey Sally, I didn't see check in bag, you may want to look around for it in case it fell out. Today is payday. :-) have a great day. "

This is what I'd do (and have done). I love the look on a parents face when they realize child got thru the day without the lovey that parents INSIST they need to hold 24/7. So I wouldn't be so quick to call/text about that, but I would absolutely mention the check not being in the bag!

I would call definately call/text. Nothing weird about that. There have been lots of times that I parent has had to run somethng back here. I have them leave it at front door so as not to disturb the dc.
