    Interview follow-up

How do you follow up on an interview that you thought went well?
How much time do you wait before you contact the person?

    Thanks!!

I write emails. I follow up as soon as that night to recap what we went through during the interview and to send them additional info (resume, list of training, classes etc.) and thank them for their time.

If you don't like email and want to call I would do it on the 3rd day of no contact just to see what their verdict was and to remind them that I want to fill the opening as quickly as possibible and would continue to schedule interviews ... nicely of course but that's the gist

How do you get their email address? I don't typically ask for that...and they don't fill out any papers while they're here, they take all paperwork with them to read over and (hopefully) call me with any questions, so I wouldn't have access to their email info until they brought the papers back.

This one family in particular contacted me via facebook, do you think it's appropriate for me to follow up with her on facebook as well?

I'm just not really sure what to say. I want to ask (in a nice way) if she liked it here & if she will be enrolling her children & when they will be starting.

      Thanks for your help

I always ask for an email address at this time. I don't hand out a printed contract or handbook for them to review so I need one so that I can email it to them. If they don't have internet or an email address (never has happened) I always have a printd set just in case.

If I get contacted via facebook I always request their telephone number and email address as well. Then I call them to do a phone interview and they can email me questions after that.

If you're having trouble thinking about what to say just try "Hi, this is [you] calling you from [daycare name], how are you doing to day? I was calling calling you to say thank you for taking the time to come by and check us out. Have you made a final decision yet?
[Yes, you] Great! I'm looking forward to it. When did you want to come by to complete paperwork?
[No] Okay, I understand. Choosing the right fit can be difficult. Do you have any other questions for me, I would love to answer any additional questions you may have.... " etc.
