Because it's 3:30, and most of them don't get dinner until 6 or later, it doesn't affect their dinner time at home. As a matter of fact, because they get that bit of protein (and whole grain crackers), they seem to be in better shape while mom's cooking.
Even if it did affect dinner at home, it would be ok, since it's a healthy snack.- Flag

hhmmm I may have to contemplate that because my afternoon snack is usually just one element away from a complete meal.
I do feed dinner to a couple of my late kidlets though, I have one that doesn't get picked up until 6:30 so he won't be home until 7:15! and he is just one. So, I always make sure he gets fed.- Flag

I did away with am snack a long time ago and Im so glad that I did. I found that they werent really hungary but it was more like they needed a diversion. I wouold much rather them eat a good lunch. I to find that if they have a protein at breakfast they arent starring at me with that look around 10:00. (brk at 8:00). I think its better to have a small snack around 3:30. I does seem like an awful lot to cram snack in the morning.

We don't have morning snack. Kids can eat a breakfast that they bring until about 9 a.m. and then lunch is at noon and afternoon snack at 3 or 3:30 p.m.- Flag

I should add that mine all get some sort of breakfast before they arrive at 7:15-7:45. Two get oatmeal at home every morning, the other usually has dry cereal or a banana on the way, and 10 mo gets a bottle (or sometimes a poptart...ugh).
Breakfast here is usually whole-grain bread with cheese or meat (it's a german thing), or sometimes cereal, scrambled eggs, pancakes, or waffles, and always milk.- Flag
