I must be priced to high...

Really what do parents think... That i will watch your child for pennies a day while they rake in the dough...

My rates are M- F hunderd dollars a week or for part time twenty a day. I am willing to give a discount for the second child but I will not do it for nothing.. maybe the second child half price...

I have had people call and ask but then never call me back again. I did my research and I am middle priced. Some are 125-150 week others are 65-85 week. I am beginning to wonder if Arkansas (this area) people are just too cheap!

Hang in there! You will find the right families. I wouldn't go any lower on your rates.

I would stick with it an stay with your rates. I also dont give big sib discounts. They take up the same spots.

In my experience, some parents really get it and want good quality care and will pay for it. Others are cheap and dont care who watches their kids. You want the kind that care and are going to pay. Dont lower your rates too much or youll get clients you immediately want to get rid of.

Stick with your pay, and you do not necessarily have to give a discount on the siblings. My fees are the same for EVERYONE, sibling or not. The right family will come along and appreciate you for the quality care you offer their children. Good luck!

Thanks Ladies... My husband and I were talking and we both agreed... I will not lower my rates.. I will just keep posting ads and the right family will come along. This may sound bad, but I don't want a low income family ... I have had those and they tend to try to run me over and I have had more trouble with them than adv. to high income families.

I just find it funny that some people can care less if an ax murder is watching their precious child as long as they are cheap!

a friend told me years ago. she gets the best families because her rates are high. Families with money think a place that charges more is better.

and unfortunately the families you get when you charge way less than the going rate often pay late or leave without notice. They have trouble paying their bills.

              Exactly! (axe murderer comment)
I was just contemplating this very thing when I logged on. I had a mom call and want part time... well kind of 9:30-3:30 Wed and Fridays with possible pick up hours on Monday. I told her $25 a day. She seemed shocked. She said for 6 hours that is over $4 an hour! I said yes but I can't schedule anyone around him. Now I am full Tues/ Thurs and I do have a part time MWF open. I was just contemplating calling her and offering her w/f for $40 a week but only for the 6 hours. But, I don't know if it is worth the hassle to train another 2 yr old I did tell her that I feed the kids as much organic/ local as I can. That they only get healthy food at my house. That I do great art and learning projects daily. Told her to look at my facebook page. I think she couldn't get over $25 a day. I think ok, I could do $20 but really $10 is going to keep her from having excellent care?
