What Are Your "Go To" Educational Videos?

We don't watch a lot of tv but I do allow them an educational video from 11:10a - 11:30a while I'm prepping lunch and then occasionally 30 minutes while everyone is waking up from nap.

Right now I just rotate between a few Baby Signing Time videos and Leap Frog Letter Factory and LF Talking Words Factory.

If you allow tv time what are your favorite educational videos for the kids?

Starting next week I'll have dcks 3 years and under.

I like Baby Einsteins. They were originally made for infants and young toddlers I think, and research later showed they are not helpful to kids that young. But I do think they are perfect for 2 and 3 year olds. I know a lot of people dislike Diego and Dora as well, but these programs are pretty educational and they do encourage the child to participate. We do not do tv here, but also do videos during snacks, about 15 mins in the morning, and 15 in the afternoon.

you tube.....just make sure that you watch them first before showing to the kids. A few years back we were learning about fish, so I went to elmo's world to show them that Dorthy is a fish..... It was a pirated film where Elmo was chasing Cookie Monster with a butcher knife.....

The kids get to pick here (a different child each day) We only watch one show a day while I'm making lunch. They usually choose Super Why, Einsteins, Doc McStuffins or Dora.

We use the "on demand' feature through our cable company.

I just got some Brainy Baby dvds from the library today. Good to know I can get them so inexpensively if the kids like them.

I don't do too much tv time at all. Some days we have none and some days maybe half an hour before nap. I have only been doing Mommy and Me and alphabet/number dvds right now. I have all toddlers so I don't want them to get used to alot of tv.

my older kids love the magic school bus. I really recommend this one, but I think its more for kids over the age of 6.

Yes, and what sound every letter makes. That has to help their pre-reading skills!

I take blank DVD's and make a video slide show of as many photos of the DCK's I can fit on it and play that on a loop or repeat play option.

The kids will watch for a long time, squealing with delight each time a picture comes onto the screen they recognize.

That is the only TV we have here.
