    Getting Ready for Licensing!!

I only have a few more things to do before I apply for licensing!! I'm so excited!!! Today I ordered 6 cots, bought 2 fire alarms, and bought a carbon monoxide detector. By the way, do you all use cots, mats or your own beds?

I have only 3 assignments left do on the required course study. I have to do a drawing, to scale of my home, with doors and window measurements. The fire department has to come check out my house. And, then probably a few little things I haven't thought of!

I'm kinda scared that I haven't done something major that I'm not aware of. Luckily, I have friends who have licensed daycares, too.... they have a wealth of knowledge to share.

I'll let you know when I apply and I hope it doesn't take too long. Some say 6 months to a year. Ugh!

    happyfacehappyfacehappyface You're on the way!

Sounds like you covered all the bases! You will probably add some things as you get children, one thing I had to ad was a front door safety knob so that toddlers couldnt open the door...their hands are too small to grasp it, they try to turn it and it just spins around and around. Another thing that wasn't so obvious to me is sometimes the knobs on ovens are reachable for lil ones so I covered those. A major thing is if you have a 2 story there should be a gate that doesn't allow children to go up and down.

I know this is a very exciting timehappyface

My state doesn't allow those on exits. I got an alarm at Lowes that chimes when the door is opened instead.

Congratulations and best of luck to you!
