I'd be upset, too.
The candy wouldn't be a big deal to me at all, but the idea of my child sticking pins through anything doesn't sit well with me. Also, when you add in the soda can factor, that makes the pin idea on worse. Has anyone here ever tried to stick a sharp object through a pop can? I have and I got stitches for my trouble! I know that a straight pin probably wouldn't do the same damage as a pocket knife, but still, it just doesn't sound like a safe idea to me. We don't use anything that can puncture skin for arts and crafts here. I'd be pretty upset!
