    No Show, but...

So my noon interview didn't show up. When I called her to see what was going on, she said she "forgot" but she has a friend who would like to meet me, who also needs county childcare, and could they come together on Monday? I have no idea how many kids this friend has but she did say they both need me for the same hours.
Ugh. People drive me batty! I'm mad that she "forgot"... but happy that she may be bringing in more business with her on Monday. I think I will call & gently "remind" her of our interview about an hour before the scheduled time
Just praying that this all works out...

I just got another call for childcare -private pay- for 2 kids. Interview tomorrow. The lady who didn't show up today may have just lost her spot! LOL
      Wish me luck...happyface

Praying that they are a much better fit for you. No call/no shows are usually not great clients.

I called her & she said "sorry, the baby was asleep"...uhhh, really? How 'bout a phone call?? Ugh. People just drive me nuts. I have a million other things to do today besides wait on you to show up! Anyway, she said she'd be here in 5 mins...it's been more than 5 mins. I'm about to give up! Grrrr.

This is why I don't get my hopes up when I have an interview scheduled.

so rude. dont give her anymore chances. If this is how they treat you in the beginning, its only going to get worse along the way.

2 no call/no show interviews in 2 days...I'm getting very VERY discouraged
Why tell me you're going to be here in 5 mins if you aren't really coming?
Supposedly I have 2 people coming Monday night...if they don't sho, I may just throw in the towel completely

I am sorry that you are going through this right now, but you HAVE to look at it in a positive light or you will spiral downward and become depressed enough to not want to do this anymore.....

Look at it this way: The people who no-show you are doing you a favor. they are showing you up front that they are not the families you want in care. If they can't show up for the intierview, they aren't going to pay on time, drop off or pick up on time so think of it in a good way!

It could always be worse! They could enroll, come a few weeks and be the nightmare parent that always shows up late and never pays etc.

NO experience is a bad one if we learn from it.

What kind of converstations are you having on the phone, prior to setting up the interview? Are you asking any questions, giving out any of your info or just setting up the time to meet?

Just curious as I guess I can usually tell just from the conversation on the phone if they are going to be the flakey type or if they are serious about looking for care.

The 2nd lady I talked to (private pay) sounded pretty positive...the only thing I didn't like was that when she called she said, "I was calling to get your rates for BABYSITTING"...that gets under my skin...but I politely asked her a few questions (how many children, what ages, etc.) & I told her a little about how much I charge & what all is included in that rate. She seemed very interested. I just don't get why at 12:25 when I called her the 1st time, already 25 mins late, she said she would be here in 5 mins. That's crazy! Then when I called her back at 1:00 she didn't answer. I left her a very kind message to please return my phone call if she was still interested & wanted to reschedule. No call.

The 1st lady I am giving another chance...she is supposed to come tomorrow at 6 pm with a friend who also needs childcare. I HOPE it works out. If not, I will have to get a second job outside the home & I REALLY don't want to do that!!

Trying to stay positive...thanks for the support!!
