Need assistance with placing an ad for my daycarecenter

Hi my name is teri Matthews. I run a childcare division for the past 28 years, i live in southern oregon, in a small town called Grants pass.

I am in great need of children, i ran into kind of a financial problem because i am currently not working any more. I was just wondering if anyone of you can recommend an alternative way to post my business add in my local area, so people can see it. I do not know alot bout computers and i don't know anything bout web development so i use this site "care.com" but so far, its been listed for about 2 months and i have not got a single referral yet. To bad care.com does not have a forum like this, because that would be just the thing to help extend my promotion.


So what would you recommend for me in my current situation.

It might not have anything to do with you personally but more to do with the fact that there may not be many families in your area that are needing care.

A majority of child care providers across the county are low on enrollment right now. There are obviously more providers than there are families needing care.

My suggestion would be to network as much as you can and get your name out there with other providers, parents, community groups and friends and family.

Good luck and hang in there. We have all been there at one time or another.

Hi Terri! You might try listing with your local Child Care Resourse and Referral. They will be listed under Child Care in you Yellow Pages.

I have a lot of luck with craigslist.com. I also put up fliers at local places with bulletin boards, such as post office, convenience stores, pediatrician, ice cream shops, grocery stores, etc.

Craigslist is pretty much the only place I get referrals from.
