    "That Hurts My Ears!"

My DD started it and it spread like wildfire...complaining that sounds of perfectly reasonable volume "hurt her ears" and demanding that the sound stop. I tried to discourage the behavior but it spread too quickly.

To be clear, I know that sometimes a child saying that something loud/high-pitched/etc really is hurting their ears but these are reasonable/fairly quiet sounds, or the sounds of someone playing that they should have the right to continue.

So now I'm faced with a whole group (all three of them : frequently deciding that reasonable sounds are hurting their ears...even when that child is making a louder or more annoying sound. It's a control ploy and I get that...but how to deal with?
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

or a spray bottle with scented water.... Magic potion that cures everything...and wards off monsters and zombies!

Either that...just say "well, how can you solve that problem?".....move away from the noise.
