I can't get a dcmom to give me a schedule

I have asked over and over. She won't follow if she even give me a day to day schedule. Sometimes dcb doesn't even show up, and is NEVER on time. Today for instance, this dcb is my only dck for the day. I asked her yesterday at pick up, what time he will be coming, because he is my only dck and if he isn't going to be here right away, I won't get up as early. She said, "Well, I have to be to work by 7:30, so before that. It is now 8:30 and still no dcb. I am so tired of the disrespect. I try to make her understand that I need to know a specific schedule because I schedule my day around drop offs and pick ups of the kids. She just doesn't seem to care. Other problem? It's a family friend, so to let them go would not be the route I want to go unless it gets worse. The parents are going thru a divorce and I want my house to be the one consistant place dcb has. Ugh. Why do some parents just not get it? I do think I am going to start charging for no show when I am expecting him and maybe a late drop off.

YES! You should be charging for no shows and I really really hope you are pre-pay and not being paid after the fact.

I charge families theor regular rate when a schedule is turnind in per my policies.

Anyone NOT turning in a schedule by the time it is due gets charged drop in rates. My drop in rate is 1.5 times my regular rate.

Funny how quickly they give you a schedule if you charge more for when it is late or not followed......

Grrrr!! I hate that too. I would have been calling her at 7:35 this morning!!!! I'd also be sure not to be there one of times she says she will be there at a certain time and isn't. I'd give the "well, since you weren't here at 7:30 I figured you weren't coming today". I am definitely adding a fee for late arrivals to my contract for Fall.

Have her sign your contract with drop off and pick up times only. Then word it if you are not here with in 1/2 hr. or 1 hr. after your specific drop off time- you will go about your day and assume they are not coming. I have specifically an hr. in mine. On 2 seperate occ. I had 2 families, that expected me here all day long!! When one family finished with their dr. appt. they came, only to find me gone- I was out a walk, and they didn't find me. They called and they were mad at me, for not being at home!!! They didn't tell me or bother calling me on it. Another one, parent had the day off, so came to my house around 10:00 with daycare child, supposed to be here by 8:00, I was gone again!!!

I will admit that I've done this on purpose before. I had a client that kept showing up whenever they wanted no matter what I did. I wanted to term them but couldn't afford it because daycare was slow at the time. They would let their child sleep in so when he got here he wouldn't be ready for nap because he had slept until 9 am. One Friday they didn't call or show until about 3 hours after normal arrival time and he was the only kid I had that day. I didn't answer the door and pretended that I wasn't home. I later told the parents that since they hadn't been here when we agreed upon we went to lunch with my mom...they were never late again.
